Overwhelm? You got nothin’ on me.
Because I’ve got a crazy simple yet ridiculously powerful tool to transform that overwhelming energy into calm focused energy.
Ok first a couple of basics:
1. Everything is energy.
2. Our mind and body are so intricately intertwined that oftentimes the best way to deal with the energy in one is to focus on the energy in the other.
Tapping, also known as EFT (or Emotional Freedom Technique), is one of the simplest ways to shift the energy in both your body and your mind at the same time.
So what the heck is tapping?
If you’ve worked with me as a coach, you’ve already experienced this, but for those who’ve yet to work with me one-on-one, here’s a bit about the background:
Tapping is based on stimulating the Chinese meridian lines of energy that run through our body – much like acupressure – and it does so through the process of “tapping” on points along these lines.
The act of tapping when combined with thinking stressful and overwhelming thoughts actually creates new neural pathways to our amygdala, the part of our brain that manages the “fight or flight” in our lives, by exchanging the feelings of stress associated with those thoughts with feelings of peace and calm – or what I like to call “soothing the crying baby.”
We often don’t realize how much stress and overwhelm are affecting our day-to-day lives and keeping us from being the most abundant and creative beings that we want to be; once we soothe that pain, trauma, and stress in our bodies, we can then refocus that energy into more positive areas of our life!
One of my favorite things about tapping though is that it has been simplified so that anyone can learn it VERY QUICKLY.
